Short answer: Tell us as soon as possible. Minor changes are usually covered by the two revisions included with every order. Larger scope changes may need a bigger revision and can change the price, and we confirm that with you before doing the work.
If your project plans change after you have submitted your Title 24 order, contact us as soon as possible at service@title24comply.com with your order ID (T24-XXXX-XXXXX format from your receipt). What happens next depends on how far along your report is and the scope of the changes.
Minor changes — window size adjustments, swapping insulation products, HVAC model updates, or small layout tweaks — are typically covered by the two free revisions included with every order. These are usually fast to process.
Major scope changes — adding square footage, changing the number of units, switching building type, or significant structural redesigns — may require a more substantial revision and can affect the final report price. Which Changes Affect the Energy Model?
A change matters to your Title 24 report when it changes an input to the energy model. Interior finishes, cabinetry and most room-layout changes that do not move exterior walls or windows usually do not.

If your report is already registered
Once a report has been completed and registered with an approved California registry, any changes that affect the compliance analysis require a new registration. We handle the re-registration process and will walk you through any steps or fees involved. The sooner you notify us of a change, the easier and faster it is to update your report. How to Send a Change
Email the revised plan PDF with the changes clouded or listed, plus your order ID. If only equipment changed, the new model numbers or spec sheets are enough. The documents to upload page lists what we use for each part of the model.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if the design changes after the permit is issued?
If energy features change during construction, the building department may require an updated CF1R, because the inspector and any HERS rater check the work against the approved documents. See HERS rater vs Title 24 report.
Should I wait for final plans before ordering?
Not necessarily. Preliminary plans are accepted, and early modeling can show which design choices help compliance.
